Aventura CEO To Chair The American Heart Associations Go Red For Women Luncheon

Miami, Fla. -- (January 16, 2007) – The American Heart Association recently announced that Heather J. Rohan  will chair the 2007 Go Red for Woman Luncheon in Miami-Dade County.

Rohan is the CEO of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.  “I’m honored to be named chair of the 2007 Go Red for Women Luncheon. As women, we must band together to help wipe out heart disease. It’s important to make a promise to do something for your heart everyday,” said Rohan.

Rohan has over 27 years of healthcare experience, and has been an integral part of the H.C.A. hospital system for more than 20 years. Her expansive career in healthcare has included holding leadership roles in both the administrative and clinical areas for the last 22 years.

In addition to her commitment to the American Heart Association, she’s very active in the community.  She has served as President of the Palms West Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors for Chairman for the United Way of Palm Beach County.  Ms. Rohan demonstrates the idea that giving back has endless reward and her efforts have made a significant impact in the lives of many.

The 2007 Go Red for Women luncheon will be held May 9, 2007 at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Downtown Miami.  The Go Red for Women Luncheon celebrated women survivors and educates others about heart disease and its risk factors. The luncheon is part of the Go Red for Women movement, which raises women’s awareness of their risk for heart disease and helps them learn, and encourages them to take charge of their heart.  Go Red for Women combines style with substance. Going red is much more than a fashion statement; it’s the American Heart Association’s national call for women, by women, to live healthier lives.

Across America, the red dress and the color red are becoming instantly recognized as the symbols of women’s empowerment to love and save their hearts through lifestyle choices and actions. The 2006 Broward County Go Red for Women Luncheon is a celebration of local women who have made the commitment to take control of their heart health to live longer, stronger lives.
